James M. LaMonda, Esq.

James M. LaMonda joined Axelrod & Adler in May of 2006.  Born in Middlebury, VT, Mr. LaMonda earned an A.S. from Woodbury College, where he also completed Woodbury’s Mediation/Conflict Management program.  In 2003 he graduated summa cum laude from Norwich University, and in 2006 was awarded his law degree from Vermont Law School, graduating magna cum laude.  At Vermont Law School, Attorney LaMonda was a staff writer and member of the Senior Editorial Board of The Vermont Law Review, worked for the South Royalton Legal Clinic, and was a graduate of Vermont Law School’s General Practice Program.  In addition James has worked for the Vermont Defender General’s office, the Vermont Bar Association and Anthony Otis, Esq, performing legislative work in the Vermont State House in Montpelier. Mr. LaMonda is a member of the American Bar Association, the Vermont Bar Association and the Vermont Association for Justice.  Attorney LaMonda is admitted to practice in all Vermont state courts and the U.S. District Court in the District of Vermont.


Before turning to the legal profession, Mr. LaMonda served in the United States Army and worked for over ten years as a chef/baker in and around Addison County and central Vermont.  Community service is important to James; he has previously given his time coaching and umpiring both baseball and football, and has served on recreation boards and volunteered at youth centers in both Addison County and central Vermont.  James has also performed volunteer work for the Town of Northfield, Vermont, the State of Vermont and for U.S. Senator James M. Jeffords.

Mr. LaMonda lives in Montpelier, Vermont, and enjoys softball and golf, as well as Vermont history.
